Points of Pride

St. John Catholic School is proud to serve the families of San Lorenzo and surrounding communities.  For over half a century, we have provided an excellent academic foundation, faith formation, and service to our community.

With humility and gratitude, we celebrate these achievements:

Our children score above grade level on standardized achievement tests.

98% of our graduates are accepted into the high school of their choice, many of them earning scholarships as well.

Our Pre-Kindergarten Program continues to grow and provide a strong educational foundation.

Our children have the opportunity to participate in STUDENT COUNCIL, YEARBOOK, CHOIR, ALTAR SERVICE, CYO ATHLETICS, GARDEN CLUB, SAFETY SQUAD, NEWSPAPER, TAE KWON DO, FITNESS CLUB and AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING.

All of our children receive music education including how to read music, sing, play an instrument, and explore music history and composition.

Our Special Needs Program promotes the success of all learners and involves a partnership between teachers, parents, our Special Needs Coordinator, our Resource Facilitator, and our School Counselor.

Our Musical Theater Program is an enriching after-school program opportunity that culminates with a spring production.

Our children receive recognition annually at the Lilian Black Arts Festival, Young Author's Faire, and the Rootwide Science Fair.

We come together for many successful community-building events, including our Annual Festival, Golf Tournament, Classic Car Show, and Crab Feed.

Our teachers are credentialed; 30% have a master's degree.

Our Sister Teresa O'Connell won the 2006 Mother Seton Award.

Coach Ray Bannister has been honored for over 40 years of service as a basketball coach and classroom math tutor.

We are truly a family at St. John’s… our children’s smiles say it all!
